Just the touch of a finger can lock and unlock doors by an authorized user with the new technology. The authorized user is detected via a compatible smartphone or tablet app that is within range to lock and unlock the door. The deadbolt lock can sense then your smartphone or device is nearby. As an extra security, the user still needs to touch the face of the lock even if the Bluetooth signal has already been emitted. It is also possible to grant unrestricted or temporary access to other phones as well.

Another feature of the Kevo technology are the guest ekeys which sets day and time schedule constraints from your phone. But not only that, another prime security feature is its inside/outside intelligence, which detects whether a verified device is currently inside or outside the home.
